DVA Meeting July 2010

Last night we had our first meeting at the new Media Village Head Quarters in Eversdal, Durbanville.  We were welcomed by founder members; Graham and Diane Vermooten. Members came from all over the peninsula and were not disappointed.  Graham gave us a short history and their vision for Media Village and then Diane talked on the Soccer World Cup project they were involved in.  We watched two short video's about their "Red Card" campaign against human trafficking.  Their students took part in a competion which won them a R100 000 with which they produced the well known ad aired on E-TV and more than 80 cinemas country wide on human trafficking.

It was then our guest speaker Glen Thomas, who had us all mezmerized with his knowledge on technical stuff and his professional camera work.  He concentrated on the Canon SLR 5D and 7D cameras. A fantastic evening with new members joining.  Hope we see you at the next one in the Waterfront!
