"Have camera - will travel" what a great industry we are in! Imagine our delight when we were asked to fly to England to film a wedding there in May. Springtime is an amazing season in England. Bluebells and snowdrops blossoming in almost every field and hedgerow we passed and the best show of cherry blossom on heavily laden branches that they have had there in years kept my finger on the "record" button from the start of our journey right through to the end.
It was freezing when we arrived, well, 5 - 9 degrees centigrade throughout the days and below freezing at night time. However, after the first week, the sun broke through and the wedding day arrived with the temperature gauge showing 28 degrees! I have to say, it was almost like being back in the beautiful Cape countryside as we captured the day for Tiffany and Dan with both video and still cameras. After the traditional English church wedding, everyone proceeded to a country hotel on the banks of a lake in the county of Rutland. Fabulous venue and scenery that was just willing itself to be captured really helped us as we went about our business during the day.
It was a challenge having to both film and take photographs - I was totally shattered by the end of it all! The couple had booked us as videographers and it was only a month or so into the booking that they mentioned they wanted us to take the photographs also. They had a restricted budget and because we do have a background in photography, we agreed to do this for them.
So, "Have cameras, big cases, will travel", where to next......
